POETRY - The Poetry Foundation App Reviews

The app was working well in combination with another poetry app (both providing me a fine selection of poetry). When I opened the app today, however, all my favorites were erased. This combined with the antiquated look of the user interface severely damages my perception of this app.

Twice now I have opened this app to revisit poems that I have saved as favorites, only to find that the Favorites file is empty. I am very disappointed.

Nice app with decently good selection of poems. There are some interface things Id complain about, but thats not what I want to focus on. My major problem with this is that it one day out of the blue just decided to wipe my favorites list of poems, some of which I had saved to reference for academic projects and now I have to find them all over again. Didnt even have it for that long. Would be nice if it worked.

My favorite poem, if by Rudyard Kipling crashes during when it loads :( Using iphone 5s iOS 9.3.2

This is an excellent amalgamation of some classic and much loved poetry. I have found a number of poems are inaccessible though; as I select them, the app quits. Particularly Rudyard Kiplings collection.

Although I sometimes neglect this app, distracted by other pursuits, I am pleased or shocked or entranced when I do use it. One question - just read a poem that seemed to have an audio version but it wouldnt play. My phone? A bug?

Ill keep this straightforward: PROS - Poetry in your pocket - They seem to keep the structure of the poems - Poetry suggestions. CONS - The app crashes on a lot of poems. - very limited selection of poetry (Hardly any T.S. Eliot, Byron, and NO DYLAN THOMAS) - Its not very easy to search for poems. You have to get it exactly right when you type it in, or else you wont find it. All in all, its a good idea, but its buggy and needs development.

I love this app so much!! But it keeps crashing, which is really annoying. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

This app has a cool way of finding various poems and poets. Only thing I can complain about is that sometimes when I click on a poem, the app crashes. Otherwise, this is pretty great.

App crashes every time you select a poet/poem after searching for one!

Dont even bother with this till the awol developers update their app.

I love the spinner but when I search for a specific poem then try to open it the app crashes.

This app is okay for just any old app, but if you like reading poetry then its fantastic. The user interface is a little quirky but it delivers the goods (i.e. poetry). Its easy to find most of the classic poems with which you are probably familiar but its also easy to find a lot of new material you might not know about. Some of the poems are even accompanied by a reading of the poem you can listen to in the app. I cannot recommend this application highly enough if you like poetry. But if you are just looking for another app to download then its probably not the right app for you.

I love being able to turn to this on the subway or a doctors room... Its the perfect way to pass time meaningfully. Havent tried the audio yet but Im excited to.

Good app, but without Dylan Thomas its incomplete.

Okay app with overwhelmingly male poets. Kind of disappointing.
